"Best Buy Sold Me A Defective HDTV"
Best Buy and Insignia (Best Buy's in-house brand) are cheats and cheapskates... I bought an IS-TVHD30 HDTV from them last year and exactly one year and one month after I purchased it, it broke! Of course, that put it one month out of warranty. After Googling the model number, I found I was far from alone in my experience. Not only that, but the upgraded version of the TV I bought was labelled among the worst tech of 2006 by Cnet.com. I called Insignia to let them know about the issue and see what they could do for me, and found out that repairs would easily cost over half of what I already paid for the TV itself. I very reasonably (I thought) offered a compromise to the Customer Service Supervisor. I said if you can do something for me to help me fix this clearly defective product, I won't tell all my friends and family about this horrible experience and I won't post it online and I will continue to shop at Best Buy. Since you're reading this rant, he was obviously unable to help me. He did offer to have his supervisor return my call, but that didn't happen and its been impossible to get him back on the phone. Bottom line is that Insignia won't fix a clearly defective product that they built, even at cost, and now I'm out $550 for an HDTV that barely lasted a year. I vow NEVER to shop at Best Buy ever again and to tell as many people as possible about my experience so that they are aware of how little Best Buy and Insignia value their customers.

I've had mine 8 months - got it with a deep "open box discount" for $299. Last week the inside exploded and now I have no picture and no sound. Best Buy's "Geek Squad" guy came and looked at it - they might replace it or might send away for parts. He
Almost exactly the same thing happened to me! Mine broke 1 year and 3 months after I bought it. I called Insignia and was treated pooly. They gave me sarcastic tips on things to try and I could hear someone else laughing in the background at this! Aft
Bad customer service is the worse!
